Testimonials and Case Studies
Our mission is to provide an excellent service that enables our clients to enjoy the process of investing in more space. We are the people that make things happen. We keep you informed of progress, schedules, expectations and realities. We aim to relieve you of any worries about what we understand is a major commitment. We love feedback because we can see what we are doing right and learn how to do things even better. Here are some case studies of past projects and some comments from clients.
A Stunning river-side location in Surrey

As Phil and Kirsty on the TV always say... Location, Location, Location! This recent project could hardly be in a better location. Our clients live near Hampton Court, Surrey, one of the most stunning locations around London. Their house backs onto a private mooring on the River Thames and as such, benefits from very special views indeed.
Many years ago a summerhouse had been planned for this corner of the garden, but never pursued. Footings had even been excavated and the landscaping of the patio and decking had been shaped around it. This wasn't as helpful as it would seem because of the slightly jaunty angles and levels that we were left to work with. However, after careful surveys and a planning application we were ready to install the building.
Here are the key features of this building:
- Very specific dimensions to adhere to planning conditions and unusual base
- Wide (4m) sliding curtain glazing to one side and bi-fold doors to the other
- Integrated blinds within the glazing
- Smooth, flowing entrance from existing decked patio area
- Impressive cedar clad appearance which will mellow into the garden setting over time
Around 2 weeks of hard work has produced a very special garden room. It opens up a huge range of possibilities for the family and is already becoming a favourite spot for our client... not surprising really!
Why Swift?... because we offered a service that listened to our clients needs and we are flexible and solution focussed in our approach.

A Stylish and Modern Gym, just a few steps from home.
We do talk a lot about the advantages of our flexible approach towards bespoke buildings - and rightly so. Even when the design appears quite straightforward, the little tweeks that can be made will produce a building that looks and performs so much better.
The brief for this sharp and well finished studio was very specific. Our clients knew precisely where the building was to be positioned, what dimensions would be perfect and how the room would enhance their lives.
We discussed door and window options and chose these superb sliding doors in aluminium frame material. Minimal interruption to the view and maximum light flooding into the room makes for a real connection with the beautiful gardens. The doors can be opened in either direction and, considering their size, have a fantastic smooth and easy action.
A carpeted floor gives the ambiance that was sought and looks really striking. At the owners request (and a great idea it is!) the electrical consumer unit was positioned in the nearby garage, keeping the smooth lines of the gym's interior intact. Externally, the building hugs a retaining wall on one side and has an eye-catching recess for the window on the other... again a preference of our descerning client.
All told, a particularly attractive garden Gym that is already being well used... and all that time saved by not driving to the fitness club can be spent doing another few miles on the treadmill!

“As promised, a finished product within 10 days. Very good, hardworking installers. The finished product looks and is brilliant. Thanks to Martin and the Team"

Big tree, small gap, big success in North London!
Al had a great vision of what would work for him and his family. A good sized, very smart looking garden studio that would give year-round additional space for a multitude of activities. It has to be a space that will be used. A space that will add to the enjoyment of the home and a space that can be a retreat, a workplace, a study and somewhere to have fun.
The existing garage was already destined to be demolished to make space for the new studio, but even so the gap from the garden boundary to a very well established tree, was not great. A garden room design was needed that could make the best use of this space. We considered building around the tree, but finally created a room that was a little longer and would retain adequate lawn space plus somewhere to put a new shed (for all the contents of the former garage!).
The result, after a couple of weeks of intense activity, is the studio that you can see below. What are the elements that make it match our client's wishes so well? Large, triple leaf curtain glazing where each leaf can move in either direction; a large side window to retain "connection" with the house and two additional windows that can be opened to allow a through flow of fresh air when required. The room has additional sound-proofing so that music can be played without any worry of disturbing the neighbours... and it works. Triple-zone lighting to enable different moods to be achieved, plus wiring for any devices that may be required.
Why are we so proud of this project? Our client had researched his options thoroughly and had a budget that he wanted to keep to. We worked closely with him to keep the building specification high, yet keeping the integrity and quality of the building to a very high standard too. Together, we produced a design that really works. We now have a client who has enjoyed the process (as did we) and has a new space that is transforming his life.

“The service was perfect. I was always kept informed and had date and time issues resolved." "When I started looking for a company to build my garden room I had a good idea of what I wanted. I spent months researching the finer details and came up with a spec. I had several companies in to discuss. The sales talk was good from all, but the quality was not there. Swift was the only company that not only met my specs. but surpassed it and within my budget. Martin had the perfect attitude to costs, he asked me what my budget was and he presented what he could supply for that amount. The whole building experience was a pleasure to watch. The building team worked like clockwork, always arriving on time and leaving the garden tidy."

The Osteopath in the Kent Garden!
With the knowledge that she could lift her practice to a higher level with the right premises, our client starting looking into creating a garden setting with a professional standard treatment room. A few weeks down the line, and plenty of sketches, emails and discussions behind us, a new building is designed that would provide exactly what is required.
Once again, this building, located in Kent, is a great example of how attention to detail makes all the difference. Swift just don't sell off-the-shelf buildings... because our clients aren't "off-the-shelf" either! Any room can be enhanced by studying the eventual usage, and how that dreamed-of experience can be improved. In this case there are many demands on the building, from a professional and aesthetic standpoint as well as budget considerations. For example the tall windows flanking the doors were reflected with a matching window on the front of the building to bring in more light to the treatment area and add a stylish feature. Space for storage, dedicated zones and correct lighting and well positioned power supplies were essential.
Our client worked tirelessly with our design process to ensure that the building would be successful for her business as well as her home setting. Her specific knowledge of her profession, and our design and project management expertise combined very successfully. The result is fantastic. Two weeks on site in appalling weather conditions saw the building installed from start to finish. Now the osteopathic treatment room is up and running and is set to be a novel and very appealing setting for clients.

“Swift stood out as the company who wanted to help me have my ideal garden studio. Martin made me feel involved the whole time and took all of my ideas on board, making them a reality. He was determined to have a finished studio that was bespoke and would meet all of my wants, and this has been achieved ten-fold. I felt that the whole process was easy and enjoyable too.. THANK YOU THANK YOU Martin and the Swift team. I could not be more happy with the end result."

More, high quality space to enjoy all year round: Rugby.
Our client loves her garden and, as part of a general makeover, she decided to make better use of some redundant space. The almost unseen area behind the garage would not be missed and would give great views back across the garden, especially with the constant mass of bird-life that visit the garden.
The brief was for a good sized room that could be used all the year round, and feel very much part of the garden. The result is a room that ticks all these boxes and is a real asset to everyday life. Wide, sliding patio doors and side windows incorporating openers for fresh air, were supplied in white to reflect the house style. Cedar cladding enables the building to instantly look at home in the surroundings.

“It's been a pleasure to deal with Swift. From start to finish, Martin was nothing but friendly and helpful, making useful suggestions and promptly answering any queries that I had".
"Customer satisfaction is obviously of paramount importance to him".
I am absolutely delighted with my new garden room and would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Swift".

A Garden Office that ticks every box as a valuable and permanent addition to the accommodation
An urgent need for more accommodation, plus a desire for a great place to work from, made this project a decision just waiting to be made! This garden office, in a suburban garden in South Manchester, was designed to match some very specific requirements. The optimum size and location, plus large, stylish windows and doors are complimented by stylish dimmable LED lighting. TV, telephone and broadband connectivity are essential as is a lovely view out from the desk! After removal of a raised flower bed and professional trimming of a substantial overhanging tree (Swift Tree Services), the build was started soon after the order was placed. Just a few days later the keys were handed over!

“We were really impressed by Martin's professionalism and friendly, efficient service. The office didn't take long at all to build and Martin's contractors were all efficient and unobtrusive."
" We would definitely recommend Swift to anyone else thinking of having a garden office built”

A stylish garden room that is a perfect home office plus a retreat for the family.
To move, to extend or to quickly have a beautiful garden room was the quandary. With a new baby on the way, the Garden Office option won hands-down. Installed in just a few days, the room is independent and private from the house as an office, and a useful room at the weekends.

“From first contact, the service and communication has been spot on. They understood my requirements completely and ensured I was fully aware at all stages of the building process. It is 5 degrees C outside and raining – I am writing this in my new office in a T-shirt, warm and secure. Thank you Martin and the team, you are a credit to yourselves and your company.”
Nick Platt-Higgins (Warrington, Cheshire)
Nestling in this mature setting, a Garden Studio that is an artistic delight.
Painting demands space and the dining room in the house had become overrun with paint and paper! Now the Bespoke Garden Studio has created a serene setting for an accomplished artist and space for entertaining in the house. A commercial sink adds versatility and sliding doors retain the best use of the available space.

“Right from our first meeting with Cath and Martin it felt like being reunited with old friends and that reassuring, genuine relationship never changed throughout the project build and beyond. The studio has exceeded expectations on a number of levels but the most unexpected outcome is the joy we have benefited from in terms of the new dynamic of a link to the outdoors and in particular our garden which has now become a focal point with the studio ... and I can honestly say a new living space. The room that we claimed back in the house as living space, once we had the studio, has been invaluable. No matter what the weather, our garden is a joy and amazingly looks bigger with the large studio in it. This is now a wonderful social space for ourselves, family and friends and a magnet to wildlife. We have thoroughly enjoyed working in the garden and redesigning this outdoor living space (inspired by the studio) that has made such a positive impact to our days and evenings. Thank you Swift Garden Rooms!”

Andy & Louise Johnson (Cheadle, Cheshire)
A hidden gem. Nestled at the end of the garden is a garden retreat for hobbies and special times.
Unusually, planning permission was required and then successfully gained before installing this garden room. There is plenty of glass to allow through views and natural light. Easy to access from the house without disrupting the family enjoyment of the garden.

“An excellent service from the first phone call to the gift of a photo frame at the end. I was kept up to date with the planning application and any queries were answered as soon as they could be. I also like the way I could tailor make aspects of the studio to suit my needs.”
